Looking to experience a magical winter surrounded by snow-covered landscapes and breathtaking forests? Charlevoix cabins are the perfect way to immerse yourself in nature while enjoying comfort, peace, and adventure. Whether you dream of snowy pine trees, spectacular mountain views, or a panoramic vista of the St. Lawrence River, these cozy cabins in Charlevoix have everything you need for an unforgettable getaway.

In this article, we’re sharing 4 Charlevoix cabins you absolutely shouldn’t miss, each offering a different experience to make the most of the winter season. Whether you’re into skiing, snowshoeing, or simply cozying up by the fire, these cabins are ideal for disconnecting, recharging, and savoring the beauty of Charlevoix’s winter wonderland.

  • Distance to reach: About 500 meters depending on the cabin
  • Main features: Surrounded by pine trees, well-equipped, family-friendly
  • Sanitary facilities: Yes
  • Dogs allowed: No
  • Our cabin: La Luciole

For a complete nature escape, Hauts Refuges is a must-visit among Charlevoix cabins. Located in the charming town of Les Éboulements, this spot offers treetop cabins surrounded by fir trees, creating a truly magical winter setting. The cabins are accessible only on foot, but sleds are available at the parking lot to help transport your luggage.

Hauts Refuges blends comfort and simplicity like few cabins in Charlevoix can. Among the rustic retreats we tried, these were the best equipped, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the experience. The small kitchen is practical and well thought-out, with nearly everything you need,  even a fondue set! The cabins also feature heaters to stabilize the temperature on cold winter nights, in addition to the wood stove, which remains the main source of heat and adds that rustic cabin charm.

Good news: each cabin has electricity (20A), offering a refrigerator, lighting, and outlets to charge your devices, a very welcome comfort in the forest!

These details make Hauts Refuges one of the top Charlevoix winter cabins for families. Three of the cabins even have slides, a fun bonus for kids. For sanitary needs, a shared washroom building is a few minutes away, and each unit also offers an outdoor dry toilet and a small indoor portable one for extra convenience.

During our stay, we stayed in La Luciole, and it was an instant favorite. The cozy chalet-style interior, outdoor dining area, and fire pit make it easy to enjoy the outdoors even in winter.

Without a doubt, Hauts Refuges is one of our top Charlevoix cabins. The winning combination? Cozy comfort, practical amenities, a warm welcome, and a spectacular natural setting. Whether you want to disconnect, relax, or embrace the winter magic of Charlevoix, this cabin is a must for an unforgettable stay.

  • Distance to reach: 600 metres
  • Main features: Mountain location, view of the St. Lawrence River, rustic
  • Sanitary facilities: None
  • Dogs allowed: Not in the cabins
  • Our cabin: Sur le Cap

If you’re craving adventure, Sauvage Charlevoix truly lives up to its name. It’s one of the most unique Charlevoix cabins for outdoor lovers seeking a rustic, authentic experience. Located in Baie-Sainte-Catherine, near the Charlevoix border (about 30 minutes from Tadoussac), the site offers a stunning natural setting with jaw-dropping views of the St. Lawrence River. You’ll find campsites, suspended tents, van life spots, and of course, two cabins for an immersive stay.

The two cabins offer distinct experiences. De la Pointe is easily accessible by car, ideal for families or a peaceful retreat. Sur le Cap, on the other hand, sits on a mountainside and rewards guests with a spectacular view of the river. Reaching it involves a 600-meter uphill walk (about 10–15 minutes), adding a touch of adventure to your Charlevoix cabin stay. Sleds are available to transport luggage, and during our visit, the thoughtful owner even guided us by phone after a snowstorm made the path hard to spot.

Once there, the reward is worth every step. The cabin is quiet, cozy, and wonderfully secluded, perfect for disconnecting from daily life. The setup is simple: no electricity or restroom building, but everything you need is included: some dishes, a 5-gallon water jug (for two nights), and an indoor propane BBQ (propane not included).

For sanitary needs, you’ll find an outdoor dry toilet and an indoor portable one (a bin with bags), great for those cold nights. Outside, a picnic table and fire pit let you enjoy the winter landscape to the fullest.

Sauvage Charlevoix is ideal for those who want to embrace nature in its purest form, away from city life. We especially recommend Sur le Cap for its adventurous feel and stunning views. It’s one of those Charlevoix cabins that leaves a lasting impression, thanks to its beauty, simplicity, and peaceful atmosphere. One tip: travel light… your legs will thank you!

  • Distance to reach: 200 meters
  • Main features: Mountain views, sunset, minimalist design
  • Sanitary facilities: Yes
  • Dogs allowed: No
  • Our cabin: L’Ouverture

Located in Les Éboulements, just like Hauts Refuges, Territoire Charlevoix instantly captivates visitors with its clean, Scandinavian-inspired design. Nestled in the heart of Charlevoix, its six cabins each offer a unique stay, perfect for your winter escape.

Access varies from 200 to 800 meters on foot, with sleds provided for luggage transport. Each cabin features an outdoor dry toilet, a dining area, and a fire pit for cozy outdoor moments. A shared washroom with showers is a short walk away. Inside, you’ll find all the essentials:  dishes, a propane cooktop, and a water pump connected to a 20-liter reservoir, meaning no need to bring your own jugs. Just remember to pack a cooler for your food.

One of the standout features of these Charlevoix cabins is that they’re powered by solar energy. The soft lighting creates a warm, relaxing atmosphere, ideal after a day outside. It’s wise to bring a small lamp, since solar power can vary depending on sunlight, a charming rustic touch that enhances the experience.

We stayed in L’Ouverture, one of our favorite cabins in Charlevoix. Just 200 meters from parking P2, it’s easy to reach, and its sunset view over the mountains of Parc National des Grands-Jardins is absolutely breathtaking.

If you love minimalist design, stress-free stays, and postcard-worthy views of snowy forests, Territoire Charlevoix cabins are perfect for a peaceful winter weekend with your partner or family.

If you’re dreaming of a more luxurious Charlevoix cabin experience, Nordika Charlevoix is the perfect choice. This retreat offers stunning four-season domes, fully equipped so you can enjoy nature without giving up comfort. Located in Baie-Saint-Paul, Nordika is just a short walk from the parking lot, no need to overpack, everything’s already provided!

These domes redefine what Charlevoix cabins can be. On the ground floor, you’ll find a king-size bed and a cozy living area to relax in front of the TV by a crackling fire. Upstairs, a mezzanine with a queen bed provides additional space for guests. Each dome also includes a private outdoor spa, perfect for admiring the St. Lawrence River while soaking under the winter sky.

Inside, everything is designed for ultimate comfort: a fully equipped kitchen (stovetop, small oven, refrigerator, dishes, running water) and a private bathroom with shower. In short, Nordika Charlevoix cabins offer the perfect blend of comfort and luxury. Located just 8 minutes from downtown Baie-Saint-Paul, they make it easy to combine relaxation with exploring local shops and restaurants.

With all these features, it’s no wonder we fell in love with Nordika. If you’re looking to unwind in style, these cabins in Charlevoix are second to none. Sure, they’re the priciest option on our list, but the experience is worth every penny. The only small drawback? The domes could be a bit farther apart for added privacy. Still, if you’re after a cozy, spa-equipped escape with unbeatable river views, Nordika Charlevoix is hard to beat.

      Conclusion
